1. Undergraduate Graduation
Your major does not matter. However, your academic performance is extremely important, so you need to pay particular attention to your grades.
Since your GPA can account for up to 30% of the law school admission evaluation, there is no need to emphasize how important it is. In general, a GPA of 3.8 or higher is considered the basic level, so it requires an enormous amount of effort.
2. LEET
LEET (Legal Education Eligibility Test)
The two sections of the LEET—Language Understanding and Logical Reasoning—are key evaluation factors in law school admissions.
They are essentially used to determine an applicant's ability and distinguish between candidates.
3. Application Documents and Interview
First, through your application documents, you need to demonstrate your competence and abilities through your personal statement, social consideration factors, volunteer activities, awards, research experience, internships, and other relevant experiences.
You need to appeal to the admissions committee and show them why you are the person who should become a legal professional.
You must use everything you have accomplished and everything you have worked toward up to this point to make your case.
During the interview, you may be evaluated on your ability to apply legal precedents, think logically, and demonstrate your values and perspectives.
Ultimately, you have to earn the recognition and approval of the people interviewing you.
You also need to maintain a good English proficiency score, as English test results are generally required as part of the application.
You may need to submit an officially recognized score from tests such as TOEIC, TEPS, or TOEFL.
In Korea, English—the de facto second language—is essentially a requirement for many of the prestigious professions whose Korean titles end in “-sa” (師).
4. After Entering Law School: The Bar Examination
Getting into law school does not mean that everything is over.
You must devote yourself fully to your studies for three years at law school.
After completing the three-year law school program, you become eligible to take the Korean Bar Examination.
The annual pass rate is around 40%.
When you consider that many highly capable people prepare intensively for this exam, yet around 60% still fail, it goes without saying that the examination is extremely difficult.
And if you fail, don't let it discourage you too much.
You are given up to five opportunities to pass the exam.
Once you finally pass the bar examination, you can begin your career as a lawyer.
2. LEET
LEET(法学適性試験)
TOEIC、TEPS、TOEFL
